The Association of Asian American Yale Alumni and current Yale students joined APEX Middle School Mentoring Pairs for a Zine Workshop. Volunteers and students worked together to create an APEX Zine.

Artists Jayson Atienza and Rich Tu led an art workshop for high school mentors and mentees. Mentoring pairs had a blast creating self-portraits. APEX thanks for these two talented artists for leading such a wonderful workshop.

APEX Middle School mentees enjoy a tour, lunch, presentation and Google-based Scavenger Hunt at the Google office. A great time was had by all. Special thanks to Rany Ng and the Asian American Google Network (AAGN) for organizing the tour!

APEX was invited to the White House on January 20, 2010 to mark National Mentoring Month. Priscilla and Alice and APEX Executive Director Kristy Nguyen represented the organization on behalf of all our our wonderful mentors and mentees.

On Saturday, Dec. 19th, 2009, APEX held its annual holiday party for all its participants. Without the help of our very dedicated volunteers who helped plan, set up, run, and clean up the event; it would not have been such a success. All who attended had a great time kicking off the Holidays.

November 21st, 2009 :
Many APEX volunteers and their friends got together for this friendly basketball competition. The main goal of this event was to raise money to support the APEX programs.

November 14th, 2009 :
The first MSMP Workshop of the 2009-2010 program year was led by Kam Mak; an illustrator and professor at FIT. Kam talked to MSMP Mentees and Mentors about his becoming an illustrator; and his making of the Lunar New Year stamps each year for the United States Postal Service.

November 6th, 2009 at AON Global:
APEX hosted its Fall Volunteer Social event where all APEX volunteers were invited to come out and mingle with each other. Those who attended included MSMP Mentors, HSMP Mentors, Educational Program Volunteers, and APEX Staff.

November 14, 2009 at PS 1: MSMP and HSMP Mentors met with APEX Program Coordinators to provide feedback on their experiences as mentors. All mentors who attended got a chance to share their thoughts, highlights, and memorable moments of being a mentor to their APEX mentees.

November 3, 2009 at Lincoln Center: The Big Apple Circus generously donated tickets for APEX mentees and mentors to attend their. APEX participants got a chance to meet Bello and "Grandma" from the Circus.
